Enough on that. Today is Niah's 5th Gotcha Day....we've had her 5 years. Amazing to think that she was placed in my arms for the first time 5 years ago. We're having DQ to celebrate.

Birthday for Niah Joy Rui

My first China Princess is now six. We celebrated with the Fischers. I had also promised her that she could donate her hair to LOCKS OF LOVE, so we did that too. We also had the IHOP crew sing to her. Here are some pics. We're in Beckley, West Virginia tonight and should be home tomorrow.

Quotes of the Children

Over the last week, each of the children has shown his or her own unique quirky nature. And with 8 children....how could they not?!! So here's the latest trademark quote...uttered no less than 10 times per day...

Amanda: "I know"
Jordan: "I don't know"
Julia: "But, I don't want to"
Niah: " But, Mama..."
Austin: "I think..."
Alissa: "I want to..."
Naricyn: "What about me?"
Noah: "ICE!!"

This makes for very interesting conversations as we adult listen to them play. I will update tomorrow.

The girls and I are going to be weaned away as other help comes in on Monday. So we're going to a hotel tomorrow night. Some time on Monday, Niah will have her hair donated to LOCKS OF LOVE through a salon here in Raleigh. She's going to be so cute.
I'm sure that Naricyn will have to do something special too.

It's been such a wonderful thing to have friends like the Fischers. Lori is doing much better and gets better each day. Her numbness is intentional to allow for healing; what a brilliant gift of God for this doctor to provide.

Hello August

It seems that school is quickly upon us....therefore we rush around like we're on fire to get the things that we think we need, even though we could have done this at a logical pace weeks ago, but at the time it was "too soon" to think of such things.

So, rather than doing the usual fire routine, I've opted to let Greg handle that and I'm in North Carolina with friends. The girls and I plan to stay for a week, or until we're thrown out, whichever comes first. Please pray that we'll be an asset to these friends of ours and that when it's all said and done, they'll still let us call them friends.

Torch anyone???
